Small Car AC Filter Could Ruin Your Cooling and Harm Your Health This Summer
As summer arrives and temperatures gradually rise, many car owners rely heavily on their air conditioning systems during every drive. However, a significant number neglect a crucial inspection of one essential component, leading to reduced efficiency and turning the cabin air into a harmful environment.
The Importance of the AC Filter in Summer
Hamada Al-Safty, manager of a car maintenance center, states that the AC filter is one of the parts requiring periodic checks, especially at the start of summer, due to its role in purifying incoming air from dust and pollutants.
He pointed out that over time, this filter accumulates large amounts of dust and debris, particularly throughout the winter season, which compromises its ability to perform its function properly.
Signs of a Clogged Filter
Al-Safty added that there are clear signs indicating a problem, most notably weak airflow from the AC vents or unusual odors inside the car when the system is turned on. He noted that in many cases, the cause is a clogged filter due to neglect or delayed replacement.
He explained that the filter not only affects air quality but also weakens the entire AC system, forcing it to work harder to reach the desired cooling temperature, which gradually reduces its overall efficiency.
Impact on Passenger Health
The maintenance center manager emphasized that a clean AC filter is essential for ensuring the cooling system operates efficiently. It also prevents dust from reaching passengers' lungs, especially children, the elderly, and those suffering from allergies or respiratory issues.
Expert Advice
Al-Safty recommended inspecting the AC filter immediately, stressing that cleaning or replacing it when needed takes little time and does not require a significant cost. Yet, it directly impacts cooling efficiency, air quality, and passenger comfort during the hot months.
