A fresh price hike has hit Egypt's family SUV segment. Mansour Automotive Group, the exclusive distributor of German brand Opel in Egypt, has raised the price of the Opel Frontera 2027 by EGP 40,000 during September, pushing the official price to EGP 1,230,000 from EGP 1,190,000. The move comes just weeks after the model was officially introduced to the local market in early August.

Opel's First Seven-Seat Family Contender

The timing is notable. Opel Frontera is the brand's first entry into Egypt's seven-seat family SUV segment, a space already crowded with established rivals. The Opel Grand Land 2027 also saw a price increase recently, signaling broader market pressure. Frontera is available in a single trim level, simplifying choices but limiting flexibility for buyers who want more equipment options.

1.2-Liter Turbo Engine and Daily Performance

Under the hood sits a 1.2-liter turbocharged three-cylinder engine producing 130 horsepower and 230 Nm of torque, paired with a six-speed automatic transmission. The numbers make sense for a family hauler. Top speed reaches 190 km/h, while average fuel consumption is rated at 6.1 liters per 100 km from a 44-liter tank — figures that suit daily commuting and longer highway trips without frequent refueling stops.

Dimensions and Cargo Flexibility

Length measures 4,385 mm, width 1,795 mm, height 1,627 mm, with a wheelbase of 2,670 mm. These dimensions provide reasonable cabin space across three rows, a critical point in compact seven-seat SUVs. Cargo capacity is just 40 liters with all seven seats in use, but expands to 460 liters with five seats up. Reaches 1,600 liters when the rear seats are folded flat. That flexibility is Frontera's strongest card.
