After a 50,000 EGP Cut: MG 5 Becomes the Cheapest MG in Egypt
MG, the Chinese automotive brand represented by El Mansour Automotive in Egypt, has announced a significant price reduction on the MG 5 sedan, cutting 50,000 EGP from its previous price tag. This move positions the MG 5 as the most affordable model in the brand's current Egyptian lineup.
MG 5 Updated Pricing
The price cut comes amid a period of relative stability in the Egyptian currency market and easing geopolitical tensions in the region. With the new pricing, the MG 5 Comfort trim starts at 874,990 EGP, while the higher-spec Luxury trim is priced at 974,990 EGP, offering a more budget-friendly entry point into the MG family.
Engine and Performance
Powering the MG 5 is a 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine producing 120 horsepower and 150 Nm of torque at 4,500 rpm. The engine is paired with a CVT automatic transmission driving the front wheels, delivering a balance of efficiency and adequate performance for daily commuting and highway driving.
Dimensions and Interior Space
The MG 5 measures 4.60 meters in length with a wheelbase of 2.68 meters, a width of 1.81 meters, and a height of 1.48 meters. These dimensions provide a spacious cabin for five occupants and a practical trunk, making it a strong contender in the compact sedan segment.
Safety and Driver Assistance
Standard safety features on the MG 5 include ABS, EBD, ESP, CBC (cornering brake control), TCS (traction control), and HHC (hill hold control). The car also features a brake disc wiping system (BDW) for wet conditions, tire pressure monitoring, and dual front airbags. Higher trims add speed-sensitive power steering, an electronic parking brake, and side and curtain airbags for enhanced occupant protection.
Standard Equipment and Features
The MG 5 comes equipped with halogen headlamps with auto light sensors, electrically adjustable side mirrors, cruise control, a Bluetooth-enabled audio system with four speakers, and 15-inch steel wheels. This combination of features and competitive pricing makes the MG 5 an attractive option for buyers looking for a new, well-equipped sedan under the one-million-pound mark.
