Kia Seltos 2027 Escapes Kia's Latest Price Hikes in Egypt

Kia Seltos 2027 is the only model spared from the latest price increases announced by Kia's Egyptian distributor. Seven other models were hit with hikes ranging between EGP 25,000 and EGP 50,000. The cheapest Kia in Egypt remains untouched — for now.

EIT, the exclusive local distributor for Kia in Egypt, confirmed on Tuesday that seven models would receive price increases between EGP 25,000 and EGP 50,000. The Kia Seltos 2027 was not on that list. It's the most affordable Kia on sale in the Egyptian market today.

Kia Seltos 2027 Pricing in Egypt

Three trim levels are available. The entry-level EX starts at EGP 1,370,000. The HL-Turbo comes in at EGP 1,525,000, while the range-topping TL-Turbo is priced at EGP 1,675,000. That starting figure matters. At EGP 1,370,000, the Seltos sits squarely against the Hyundai Creta and Chery Tiggo 7 Pro in the compact crossover segment.

Engine Options: Two Choices for Egyptian Buyers

The EX trim runs a 1.5-litre petrol engine producing 115 hp and 145 Nm of torque, paired with an IVT gearbox and front-wheel drive. The HL-Turbo and TL-Turbo trims step up to a 1.4-litre turbocharged unit delivering 140 hp and 247 Nm, mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch DCT. That is a 25 hp and 102 Nm jump over the base engine.

On Egypt's highways, the 1.4-litre turbo gives the Kia Seltos noticeably stronger overtaking pull. The 1.5-litre unit remains adequate for daily city driving. The 7-speed DCT responds faster than the IVT, though both deliver acceptable fuel efficiency for the segment.

Dimensions and Standard Equipment

The Seltos measures 4.345 metres long, 1.8 metres wide, and 1.62 metres tall, with a 2.63-metre wheelbase. Ground clearance stands at 190 mm, and the fuel tank holds 50 litres. Those figures place the Kia Seltos 2027 right in the heart of the compact crossover fight.

Standard kit on the EX includes an 8-inch infotainment screen, a digital instrument cluster, cruise control, single-zone automatic climate control, an electronic parking brake, Auto Hold. 16-inch sport alloy wheels. A reasonable package for a base trim. The distributor has not announced any change to Kia prices for the Seltos so far, keeping it the cheapest ticket into the Korean brand's showroom.

What the Seltos Exemption Signals

The message is clear. The distributor wants to protect Kia's entry price point in Egypt without sacrificing its price appeal. Sparing the cheapest model from the hikes shows a deliberate effort to hold market share in the most price-sensitive segment. How long that exemption lasts is unclear. The distributor has set no timeline. The market waits.
