Haval Jolion Inches Closer to EGP 1 Million with EGP 35K Price Hike on Locally Assembled Version
GB Auto, the local distributor of Haval in Egypt, has approved a new price increase for the locally assembled Haval Jolion, raising prices by EGP 35,000. This adjustment is part of the latest pricing movements for the model in the Egyptian market. The first trim level of the Jolion now starts at EGP 985,000, putting it just EGP 15,000 away from the million-pound barrier.
Jolion's Position in the Egyptian Market
The Jolion belongs to the compact crossover segment. Its upgraded version is being assembled locally in Egypt. This assembly is part of GB Auto's broader strategy to expand local manufacturing and increase the number of models produced within the Egyptian market. The price gap has become razor-thin now.
Turbo Engine with 148 HP
The locally assembled Haval Jolion relies on a 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine, producing up to 148 horsepower at 5,600–6,000 rpm. Maximum torque stands at 220 Nm between 2,000 and 4,400 rpm. The engine is mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission (DCT), the same drivetrain used in the version the company introduced locally during 2026.
Performance here is expected to feel balanced for daily city driving and highway cruising. These specifications place Haval in direct competition with several other Chinese brands in the same segment.
Large Screen and Connectivity Features
Depending on the trim level, the car includes a large infotainment screen supporting Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The feature set also includes a digital instrument cluster and a wireless smartphone charger. Some trims are available with dual-zone automatic climate control, leather upholstery, heated front seats. A power-adjustable driver's seat, topped with a panoramic sunroof on the highest variant.
The vehicle also offers multiple driving modes including Eco, Sport, and Standard, allowing the driver to choose the most suitable setting based on usage and road conditions. The equipment list here is generous compared to the compact crossover class.
Safety and Driver Assistance Features
The Haval Jolion comes with a range of safety and driver assistance systems that vary by trim, including electronic stability control and tire pressure monitoring. Higher trims add advanced driver assistance technologies such as intelligent braking systems and blind spot warning.
The car is built on the LEMON platform from Great Wall Motors, which focuses on weight reduction and improving efficiency and fuel consumption. The chassis dynamics here reflect modern engineering aimed at balancing comfort and stability.
GB Auto introduced the locally assembled Jolion during 2026 in three equipment trims, making it one of the vehicles Haval is betting on in the compact SUV segment within the Egyptian market. The new increase positions the base trim of the Jolion in front of a significant pricing threshold, especially as multiple used Haval prices have already crossed the million mark in some cases, reflecting the escalating price pressures across the entire sector.
