50% Discount on East Nile Monorail Subscriptions for Employees and Passengers
The Ministry of Transport has announced a new subscription system for the East Nile Monorail project, offering a 50% discount on all subscription types (weekly, monthly, and quarterly) in a move aimed at reducing financial burdens on employees and regular commuters.
Discounted Subscription Details
The announcement coincides with the operation of the first phase of the project, extending from the Mashir Tantawy station to the Madinat Al-Adala station in the New Administrative Capital. The discounted subscriptions include:
Weekly Subscription: Covers 14 trips with a 14-day validity period, with prices starting from EGP 140 for one zone (5 stations) up to EGP 560 for the entire line (22 stations).
Monthly Subscription: Covers 60 trips with a 60-day validity period, with prices starting from EGP 600 for one zone up to EGP 2,400 for the entire line.
Quarterly Subscription: Covers 180 trips with a 180-day validity period, with prices starting from EGP 1,800 for one zone up to EGP 7,200 for the entire line.
Additional Services for New Capital Employees
The ministry clarified that the entire first phase includes only 14 stations, from Mashir Tantawy station to Al-Hay Al-Hokomy station in the New Administrative Capital. Consequently, all employee tickets and subscriptions will fall within a maximum of the third zone of the fare system.
The ministry's statement also noted that 'Akta' company, responsible for operating public transport buses within the New Administrative Capital, has provided buses at the Al-Hay Al-Hokomy station to transport passengers arriving via monorail trains to various ministries and all areas of the New Administrative Capital.
