Criticism Over High Pricing at Authorized Service Centers Raises Transparency Concerns
Journalist and media figure Hesham El-Zini stated that some authorized car service centers operated by official dealers are generating excessively high profits, noting that many consumers feel they have no choice but to rely on them to maintain warranty coverage or receive reliable service.
El-Zini explained that these service centers make substantial gains from routine maintenance, repairs, and spare parts, adding that many vehicle owners face high costs with limited alternatives in many cases.
He also emphasized that the relationship between consumers and authorized service centers requires greater transparency regarding spare parts pricing, labor costs, and various service charges, in order to achieve a balance between companies’ right to profit and consumers’ right to fair and reasonably priced service.
El-Zini pointed out that some consumers often turn to independent workshops outside official dealerships, especially after their warranty period ends, stressing the importance of regulating prices and improving the quality of services provided to car owners at authorized centers.
