Changan Egypt Announces Price Hikes of Up to EGP 25,000 in October
GB Auto, Changan's distributor in Egypt, announced price increases on three models by up to EGP 25,000 in October. The CS75 Plus rose by EGP 10,000, the CS55 Plus by EGP 15,000, and the UNI-V by EGP 25,000. Prices for the CS35 Plus, Eado, Eado Plus, and UNI-T remained unchanged. The hike reflects ongoing cost pressures in Egypt's automotive market.
GB Auto, the local distributor for Changan in Egypt, has announced price increases on several of the Chinese brand's models, with hikes reaching EGP 25,000, while other models remained unchanged in October. Three models were affected. The move comes as Egypt's automotive market continues to grapple with currency fluctuations and rising import costs, directly impacting Changan prices in the local market.
Changan CS75 Plus Up EGP 10,000
Changan CS75 Plus prices rose by EGP 10,000, bringing the Premium trim to around EGP 1,500,000, while the Flagship trim now costs EGP 1,650,000. This increase is relatively modest. The Changan CS75 Plus remains one of the most popular models in the midsize crossover segment in Egypt, making any price adjustment closely watched by buyers.
CS55 Plus and UNI-V Lead the Increases
The locally assembled Changan CS55 Plus saw a price hike of EGP 15,000, with prices now starting at EGP 1,145,000 for the Elite trim and reaching EGP 1,275,000 for the Premium trim. Meanwhile, the Changan UNI-V saw the largest increase at EGP 25,000, with the Flagship trim now priced at approximately EGP 1,350,000. Both models target younger buyers looking for sporty design and strong performance.
CS35 Plus, Eado, and UNI-T Hold Steady
Prices for several other Changan models remained unchanged in the Egyptian market. The Changan CS35 Plus is offered in three trims: Elite at EGP 1,049,000, Premium at EGP 1,149,000. Flagship at EGP 1,249,000. The Changan Eado comes in two trims: Elite at EGP 875,000 and Flagship at EGP 925,000. The Changan Eado Plus offers three trims: Elite at EGP 1,049,000, Premium at EGP 1,100,000. Flagship at EGP 1,200,000. The Changan UNI-T is available in two trims: Premium at EGP 1,399,000 and Flagship at EGP 1,499,000.
What the Increase Means for Changan Buyers
The hike places Changan in direct competition with strong rivals in the same price bracket. Buyers looking for a more affordable crossover may turn to alternatives like the Geely Coolray or Chery Tiggo 7 Pro. But Changan maintains an advantage with local assembly of the CS55 Plus, giving it more pricing flexibility going forward. The final decision rests with buyers balancing price, features, and after-sales service.
