Prices of 13 Cars Drop in Egypt During August 2026 with Cuts Reaching EGP 340K

The Egyptian car market witnessed a wave of widespread price cuts during August 2026, covering 13 different models, with the largest reduction hitting EGP 340,000 on the Volvo ES90 electric vehicle. Automakers are fighting to boost sales amid intense competition, and the battle for customers has just gotten fiercer.

Volvo Leads the Price Cut Race with Massive Discounts

The electric Volvo ES90 secured the largest discount in the Egyptian market this month, with its price dropping from EGP 4.29 million to EGP 3.95 million — a difference of EGP 340,000. This significant reduction reflects the Swedish brand's strategy to boost its luxury car presence locally.

The Volvo XC60 cuts didn't stop at one trim level, with reductions ranging from EGP 200,000 to EGP 310,000 depending on the variant. The Essential trim dropped by EGP 200,000, while the Ultimate Dark trim recorded the largest cut at EGP 310,000, and the Black Edition sat in the middle with a EGP 260,000 discount.

The largest SUV in the family was not left out of the picture. The Volvo XC90 Ultra Bright saw its price fall by EGP 300,000 to reach EGP 4.95 million instead of EGP 5.25 million. The company is clearly targeting the premium SUV segment with more competitive pricing.

Chery Launches a Discount Package Across Three Models

Chinese brand Chery entered the discount race strongly across three main models, most notably the sporty Arrizo 6 GT which saw price cuts ranging between EGP 61,000 and EGP 96,000. The Comfort trim now costs EGP 899,000 instead of EGP 995,000, while the Luxury trim is priced at EGP 999,000 compared to EGP 1.06 million previously.

The Chery Tiggo 4 Pro 2027 model was not immune to these moves either, with prices dropping by amounts ranging between EGP 61,000 and EGP 66,000. The new starting price is EGP 899,000 instead of EGP 960,000, making it a strong contender in the compact economy SUV category.

As for the Chery Arrizo 5 facelift 2027 model, it received a fixed reduction of EGP 50,000, bringing its starting price to EGP 680,000 instead of EGP 730,000. These varied cuts reflect the company's ambition to strengthen its market share across both sedan and SUV segments simultaneously.

Kaiyi Reduces Prices for E5 and X3 Pro

Kaiyi Motors announced new reductions on the E5 and X3 Pro models, with cuts reaching EGP 50,000. The Kaiyi E5 Premium trim dropped by approximately EGP 28,100 to reach EGP 859,900, a move aimed at improving its competitive position against other electric and hybrid vehicles in the Egyptian market.

The Egyptian market is experiencing relative momentum during the summer months. With these successive reductions, automotive experts expect sales to pick up noticeably.
