The Egyptian car market witnessed a new wave of price increases during May, affecting a range of different models, in a clear continuation of the instability that has been dominating the market recently.

The number of cars that saw price hikes reached more than 10 models in a record time, reflecting the ongoing pressure on prices driven by multiple factors, including rising import costs and global supply chain disruptions, along with current economic challenges.

The increases ranged between EGP 24,000 and EGP 140,000, covering family sedans and crossover SUVs during the month of May.

Price Increases in the Egyptian Market in May

DFSK 600

El Tarek for Cars, the official local distributor of the Chinese brand DFSK for passenger vehicles in Egypt, approved a price increase for the DFSK 600 seven-seat family SUV during May.

According to the new price list announced by the Chinese brand's distributor, the DFSK 600 model year 2026 rose by EGP 24,000, bringing its new official price to EGP 1,388,900, up from EGP 1,364,900 previously.

DFSK E5

El Tarek for Cars, the exclusive distributor of the Chinese brand DFSK in Egypt, announced the latest price list for the brand's vehicles in the local market, which included a price increase for the new E5 by EGP 24,000.

The new DFSK E5 seven-seater is the cheapest brand-new car in Egypt equipped with the advanced REEV extended-range electric system. After the approved increase, its new price stands at EGP 1,278,900, compared to EGP 1,254,900 previously.
