Toyota Reveals All-New Hilux with Cyber Sumo Concept-Inspired Design
Toyota Motor Corporation has unveiled the next-generation Hilux light truck in Japan, drawing design inspiration from the Cyber Sumo concept vehicle for a completely new exterior look.
Bold and Modern Exterior Design
The new Hilux features a redesigned exterior that blends rugged durability with a sleek, contemporary aesthetic. The cabin has also been reimagined to provide the driver with a sense of strength and clarity while maintaining the practical spaciousness the model is known for.
Enhanced Interior for Better Visibility and Comfort
A horizontal instrument panel improves driver visibility even on rough terrain. A 12.3-inch central display screen reduces eye movement while driving, while the wide center console reinforces a robust feel inside the cabin. Key driving controls are grouped in the lower console, separated from navigation and climate functions to enhance visibility and ease of use.
Powerful Diesel Engine and Automatic Transmission
The truck is powered by a 2.8-liter GD1 diesel engine paired with a six-speed automatic transmission. Toyota describes this powertrain as delivering strong performance, high durability, and a superior level of comfort.
Chassis and Handling Upgrades
Toyota has also introduced improvements to driving dynamics and vehicle stability, including revised suspension tuning, increased body rigidity, and the addition of electric power steering for better control and reduced vibrations.
Advanced Safety with Toyota Safety Sense
The new Hilux comes equipped with an upgraded Toyota Safety Sense package, featuring a proactive driving assist system and an enhanced intersection collision warning system. Connected services include real-time navigation updates and emergency response features.
Since its first generation launched in 1968, the Hilux has been sold in more than 190 countries and regions worldwide.
