After Three Years Away: Suzuki Alto 2027 Returns with New Specs and Pricing
After an absence of nearly three years, the Suzuki Alto small five-door hatchback has returned to the Egyptian market with the latest generation now officially priced at 535,000 Egyptian pounds. Offered through Moden Motors, the new Alto becomes the most affordable brand-new car in Egypt, available in a single trim level.
Major Price Gap Between Generations
The new Suzuki Alto 2027 differs significantly from the 2023 version in terms of engine, dimensions, features, and safety systems. The previous model's last official price was only 180,000 Egyptian pounds before it was discontinued, reflecting a substantial price increase in the current market environment.
67-Horsepower Engine and Larger Dimensions
The new Alto is powered by a 1.0-liter three-cylinder engine producing 67 horsepower, mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. In contrast, the previous generation used an 800cc three-cylinder engine with just 47 horsepower, also paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox. The new model's length has grown to 3,530 mm, width 1,490 mm, height 1,520 mm, with a 2,380 mm wheelbase, offering more interior space for occupants.
The earlier model measured 3,430 mm in length, 1,490 mm in width, 1,475 mm in height, and had a 2,360 mm wheelbase. Luggage capacity has also increased to 214 liters in the 2027 model, compared to 180 liters in the old version, which was fitted with 13-inch wheels.
Advanced Safety Features on the New Alto
The new Suzuki Alto 2027 comes with a comprehensive set of safety features, including six airbags, rear parking sensors, an engine immobilizer, ISOFIX child seat anchors, child safety locks, as well as an anti-lock braking system (ABS) and electronic brake-force distribution (EBD). These upgrades make the car significantly safer compared to the previous generation, which lacked many of these systems.
