Soueast S08 DM Hybrid Arrives in Egypt with 7 Seats and Over 1000 km Range

Soueast has officially launched its latest hybrid models in the Egyptian market, the S06 DM and S08 DM, both powered by the brand's DM plug-in hybrid technology. The launch comes on the heels of the company celebrating sales of over 10,000 vehicles in Egypt within just 11 months, underscoring growing consumer confidence in the Chinese brand locally. The S08 DM is one of six new models the automaker plans to introduce over the next three years, as part of an ambitious strategy to expand its lineup with modern family-oriented vehicles that blend strong performance, high efficiency, and premium features.

Mid-Size SUV with Seven Seats and Advanced Hybrid Powertrain

The Soueast S08 DM is classified as a mid-size SUV and comes standard with seven seats, making it an ideal choice for larger families. It relies on a plug-in hybrid system that delivers lively performance while maintaining fuel consumption as low as 5.3 liters per 100 kilometers. The vehicle is also equipped with a comprehensive suite of safety features and advanced driver assistance systems, enhancing both convenience and peace of mind during daily commutes and long journeys.

Hybrid System with 342 HP and Over 1000 km Total Range

The Soueast S08 DM is powered by a 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine paired with a DHT transmission specifically designed for hybrid applications. The combined hybrid system produces 342 horsepower and 525 Nm of torque, enabling the SUV to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.3 seconds. Power is sent to the front wheels, while the average fuel consumption stands at 5.3 liters per 100 km, offering impressive efficiency for its class.

LFP Battery, Fast Charging, and V2L Capability

The vehicle uses an 18.4 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery supplied by CATL, providing an all-electric range of up to 100 km under the NEDC standard. When combining a full tank of fuel with a fully charged battery, the total driving range exceeds 1,000 km. Charging times are competitive: a slow AC charge from 20% to 100% takes approximately 2.6 hours, while a DC fast charge from 30% to 80% can be completed in just 30 minutes. Additionally, the S08 DM supports V2L (Vehicle-to-Load) functionality with 3.3 kW output, allowing owners to power external electrical devices — a practical feature for camping, emergencies, or outdoor activities.

Spacious Dimensions and Balanced Suspension

The Soueast S08 DM features generous exterior dimensions that translate into a roomy cabin suitable for families, complemented by a MacPherson strut front suspension and a multi-link rear setup. This suspension configuration strikes a balance between ride comfort and handling stability across various road conditions. Official pricing for the Egyptian market has not yet been announced, but the S08 DM is expected to compete strongly in the mid-size family hybrid SUV segment thanks to its advanced specifications, long range, and seven-seat versatility.
