The long wait is almost over. Al-Mansour Automotive, Opel's exclusive distributor in Egypt, is gearing up to introduce the Opel Frontera compact crossover this August — a seven-seater designed specifically for local families. The move comes as demand for affordable multi-passenger vehicles rises across the Egyptian market.

Engine and Performance Specs

The powertrain is compact yet capable. A 1.2-liter three-cylinder engine delivers 130 horsepower and 230 Nm of torque, channeled to the front wheels through a six-speed automatic transmission. The numbers speak for themselves. 130 hp from a small displacement engine is impressive for this segment, and the front-wheel-drive layout ensures predictable handling on Egypt's varied road surfaces.

But there's more to this car than just power. The transmission's six gears are well-spaced for both city driving and highway cruising. Opel clearly focused on balancing performance with efficiency, a smart move in a market where fuel costs matter deeply.

Advanced Tech and Comfort Features

Technology takes center stage in the Frontera, starting with a pre-conditioning system that adjusts cabin temperature before you even step inside. Drivers can set the desired temperature through a smartphone app or the car's touchscreen, a feature that makes a real difference in Egypt's scorching climate. It's not just a gimmick — it saves energy and keeps passengers comfortable from the moment they buckle up.

The GS trim adds LED headlights, black roof rails, and a keyless start system. The infotainment package is equally impressive: a 130-degree rearview camera, navigation, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, plus a wireless charging pad. All these features come in a vehicle that measures just 4.39 meters in length, making it surprisingly maneuverable for a seven-seater. Opel has also introduced a new metallic blue color option, giving the Frontera a fresh, youthful appearance that stands out in traffic.
