El-Araby El-Sewedy ESI Group is preparing to launch a range of Omoda and Jaecoo models in the Egyptian market, with a strong emphasis on advanced safety systems and driver-assistance technologies. The lineup includes hybrid powertrains across several variants, marking a significant step for both brands as they expand locally.

Top-Tier Safety Credentials

The headline figure here is the 5-star safety rating achieved by the JAECOO 7 PHEV in the European Euro NCAP 2025 tests, as confirmed by Omar El-Dsouky, the group's business development manager. The plug-in hybrid versions of the JAECOO 7 also earned a 5-star score in ANCAP 2025, though the rating currently excludes petrol-powered variants.

Safety and driver-assistance packages vary by trim and equipment level, featuring driver-fatigue monitoring, a suite of advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS), around-view cameras, and airbags. These are tailored to each model's specifications and trim level.

The SHS Hybrid System: Over 1200 km of Range

Certain Jaecoo models rely on the Super Hybrid System (SHS), which combines a petrol engine with electric motors and supports energy recuperation during braking. The system offers multiple operating modes depending on the variant, including pure-electric driving and hybrid operation that blends both power sources.

According to official specs, the SHS delivers a combined driving range exceeding 1,200 kilometers in some models — a figure that practically eliminates range anxiety. Regenerative braking and charging systems are also part of the hybrid package, boosting fuel efficiency and extending overall mobility.
