OMODA C5 Set to Enter Egypt After New Distributor Announcement

Just days after the ESI Group (Ezz Elarab ElSewedy Investments) announced it had secured the official distributorship for both OMODA and JAECOO brands in the Egyptian market, attention has turned to the models expected to launch soon. Leading the list of potential entrants is the OMODA C5, widely regarded as one of the Chinese brand's most significant global offerings.

Engine and Performance

Globally, the OMODA C5 is powered by a 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine, producing 197 horsepower and 290 Nm of torque. It is paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission (DCT), delivering sporty performance and quick response times. In some markets, a 1.5-liter turbo engine is also available, with specifications varying by country.

Dimensions and Interior Space

The OMODA C5 belongs to the compact SUV segment, measuring 4,400 mm in length, 1,830 mm in width, and 1,588 mm in height. It rides on a 2,630 mm wheelbase, providing generous cabin space for passengers and making it well-suited for both city driving and longer journeys.

Exterior and Interior Features

The vehicle boasts a modern design featuring a frameless front grille, LED headlights and taillights, and sporty alloy wheels up to 18 inches depending on the trim. Inside, the cabin is equipped with a dual 10.25-inch screen setup for the instrument cluster and infotainment system, supporting Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Additional amenities include a wireless phone charger, automatic climate control, leather upholstery, and a panoramic sunroof on higher trims.

Safety and Driver Assistance

The OMODA C5 comes with an advanced safety package that includes multiple airbags, an Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), electronic stability control, and hill-start assist. Although the local distributor has not yet officially confirmed which models will be launched, all signs point to the OMODA C5 being among the first vehicles to arrive in Egyptian showrooms in the coming period.
