Nissan Magnite Officially Launches in Egypt on July 25: Expected Specs and Prices
Nissan Egypt is set to officially unveil the all-new Magnite on July 25, with full details on pricing, trims, and features. The announcement comes after the company had previously revealed the local production line and manufacturing process for the model, without a formal launch event or price announcement. This marks one of the most significant vehicle introductions for the Japanese automaker in the Egyptian market this year.
Local Assembly Replaces Nissan Sentra at 6th October Plant
The Nissan Magnite serves as a direct replacement for the locally assembled Nissan Sentra, which Nissan has now ceased producing in Egypt. The Magnite is being manufactured at the company's 6th of October factory, making Egypt the first African country to assemble this model. This move aligns with Nissan's strategy to expand local manufacturing operations, increase the percentage of locally sourced components, and target exports to regional African markets.
Engine, Performance, and Safety Specifications
Powering the Nissan Magnite is a 1.0-liter turbocharged three-cylinder engine producing 100 horsepower. The engine delivers excellent fuel efficiency, with a consumption rate of 5.8 liters per 100 kilometers. It complies with Euro 6 emission standards. On the safety front, the Magnite is designed to achieve a 5-star safety rating, featuring six airbags and a suite of advanced protection technologies.
Major Investment and Local Content Exceeding 55%
Nissan Egypt, through Managing Director of Nissan Egypt and Africa Mohamed Abdel Samad, revealed that the company has invested $45 million in new production lines to boost manufacturing capacity. The local content ratio in Nissan's locally assembled cars has already surpassed 55%, and the company aims to increase the plant's annual production capacity to 50,000 vehicles. Nissan highlighted that the Magnite will play a pivotal role in driving its sales in both Egypt and across African markets.
