Mini has celebrated a quarter-century of modern production at its Oxford plant by unveiling a special edition named the "MINI Cooper Oxford Edition." This exclusive model blends contemporary design with clear nods to the brand's British heritage, paying tribute to the car's storied history.

Roots Dating Back to 1959

The connection between Mini and Oxford dates back to 1959, when the classic car first rolled off the production line there. Modern production resumed at the same facility in 2001 under the BMW Group, and this special edition marks 25 years of that modern era, celebrating a milestone in the brand's journey.

Exterior Design Reflecting British Identity

The car's British identity is unmistakable, with its white roof featuring a modern interpretation of the Union Jack flag. A red and white stripe runs the length of the vehicle, giving the special edition a distinctive look compared to the standard Mini Cooper. The company offers the car in three exterior colors: Chili Red, Indigo Sunset Blue, and Blazing Blue. It also comes with white mirror caps, 18-inch two-tone sport wheels, and custom details on wheel hub covers and tire valves.

British Touches Inside the Cabin

The special edition touches extend inside the cabin. The Union Jack design appears printed on the lower section of the steering wheel, and the floor mats feature Union Jack-inspired motifs. A checkered racing flag on the passenger side nods to the brand's motorsport heritage. Additionally, special door sill plates remind occupants of the 25-year milestone of modern Mini production, transforming the edition into a full celebration of the brand's history rather than just a color-and-trim package.

Performance Options: Cooper C and Cooper S

The Oxford Edition is available exclusively on the three-door Mini Cooper body style, offered in both "Cooper C" and "Cooper S" trims. This gives customers the choice between two distinct performance levels while retaining the same exclusive design elements. The Cooper C is powered by a 1.5-liter three-cylinder gasoline engine producing 156 horsepower, while the Cooper S features a 2.0-liter four-cylinder unit delivering 204 horsepower. Both engines are paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.

Limited Release in the UK Market

Mini plans to launch the new edition in limited numbers across the British market, making the Oxford Edition a rare collector's item that reflects the brand's deep ties to the United Kingdom. By blending modern design with heritage elements, this special edition is expected to attract significant attention from enthusiasts and collectors alike.
