MG RX9 Hybrid Launches in Egypt with 7 Seats and 1100 km Range

Mansour Automotive, the official MG distributor in Egypt, has officially introduced the long-awaited MG RX9 Hybrid to the local market. The new seven-seat SUV arrives with a combined driving range of 1100 kilometers—a standout figure for a family-oriented segment.

Dimensions and Exterior Design

The MG RX9 stretches 4,983 mm in length, 1,967 mm in width. 1,778 mm in height, riding on a 2,915 mm wheelbase. The front fascia features full LED headlights and daytime running lights, with front and rear fog lamps. Power-folding side mirrors include memory function. The cabin uses double-glazed glass with tinted rear and side windows.

An electric tailgate, front and rear parking sensors. A 360-degree camera with transparent chassis view round out the exterior package. The 20-inch alloy wheels give the SUV a commanding road presence. Inside, two 25-inch displays dominate the dashboard, complemented by tri-zone automatic climate control with rear vents.

Powertrain and Performance

Under the hood, the MG RX9 uses a 1.5-liter engine in a hybrid setup producing 295 horsepower and 390 Nm of torque. A 24.7 kWh battery supports an electric-only range of up to 100 kilometers. Power flows through an automatic DHT gearbox, with MacPherson struts up front and a multi-link rear suspension.

The headline number remains the total hybrid range—1100 kilometers—backed by a 65-liter fuel tank. Cargo capacity reaches 1026 liters, making it a practical family choice. The single available trim carries a 6-year or 150,000 km warranty, whichever comes first.

Safety and Driver Assistance

Safety equipment includes front, side, and curtain airbags, plus a comprehensive ADAS suite. The system features adaptive cruise control, forward and rear collision warning, and cross-traffic alert. Lane departure warning, lane change assist with turn signals, and emergency lane keeping are all included.

Blind spot monitoring, electronic stability control. ABS with EBD, CBC, and ARP round out the electronic aids. Hill start and descent assist, tire pressure monitoring, an electronic parking brake with Auto Hold. An auto-dimming rearview mirror are standard. The car also includes an immobilizer and ISOFIX child seat anchors in the rear.

Mansour Automotive has not yet revealed the official price, but the arrival of the RX9 signals a strong push into the large hybrid SUV category. Direct rivals include the Geely Okavango and Chery Tiggo 8 Pro, both established players in the Egyptian market. Full pricing and variant details are expected shortly.
