MG 5: The Most Affordable Chinese-Brand Sedan in Egypt for June 2026
Mansour Automotive Group, the exclusive local distributor of MG in Egypt, has launched the 2026 MG 5 family sedan in two trim levels for June, positioning it as the most affordable model in the Chinese brand's Egyptian lineup.
Powertrain and Performance
The MG 5 is powered by a 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine producing 120 hp and 150 Nm of torque at 4,500 rpm. It is paired with a CVT automatic transmission and front-wheel drive.
Dimensions
The sedan measures 4.60 meters in length, with a wheelbase of 2.68 meters, a width of 1.81 meters, and a total height of 1.48 meters.
Safety and Driver Assistance
Standard safety features include ABS, EBD, ESP electronic stability control, CBC cornering brake control, TCS traction control, and HHC hill-hold assist. The car also comes with a brake disc wiping system (BDW) for wet conditions, tire pressure monitoring, and dual front airbags for the driver and front passenger. Higher trims add speed-sensitive steering, an electronic parking brake, and side and curtain airbags.
Interior and Exterior Features
The base trim includes halogen headlights with light sensors, power-adjustable side mirrors, cruise control, a four-speaker audio system with Bluetooth, and 15-inch steel wheels. The higher trim upgrades to 16-inch alloy wheels, heated side mirrors, rear parking sensors with a camera, automatic climate control, an engine start button, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and a USB port.
Pricing
The MG 5 is available in Egypt at an official starting price of EGP 925,000 for the Comfort trim, with the higher-spec Luxury trim priced accordingly.
