All-New Kia PV5 Launches in Egypt for the First Time as an Electric MPV
The Egyptian International Trading & Agencies Company (EIM), the official distributor of Kia in Egypt, has announced the launch of the all-new PV5 in the local market for the first time. The PV5 belongs to the electric multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) segment and is built on a dedicated electric platform developed specifically for this type of vehicle, making it one of the most notable additions to Egypt's growing electric vehicle sector.
Performance and Battery Specifications of the Kia PV5
The Kia PV5 is powered by a front-mounted electric motor delivering up to 120 kW, equivalent to 163 horsepower, with a torque output of 250 Nm. Buyers can choose between two battery options: a 51.5 kWh unit or a 71.2 kWh pack, depending on the trim level. The driving range reaches approximately 400 kilometers according to the WLTP cycle, and fast charging support allows the battery to go from 10% to 80% in around 30 minutes.
Dimensions and Interior Space of the Kia PV5
The vehicle measures 4,695 mm in length, 1,895 mm in width, and 1,899 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,995 mm, contributing to a spacious and versatile cabin. The passenger version offers a cargo capacity of 1,330 liters behind the second-row seats, expanding to 3,615 liters when the seats are folded flat. The commercial variant, on the other hand, provides a maximum load volume of 4.4 cubic meters, making the PV5 suitable for both personal and commercial use.
Technology and Features Inside the Kia PV5
The Kia PV5 features a cabin designed around intelligent usability, including a 7-inch digital instrument cluster and a 12.9-inch infotainment screen running Android Automotive OS with over-the-air (OTA) update capability. It also supports Digital Key 2.0, includes a wireless phone charger, and comes with Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) technology for powering external electrical devices. The interior offers numerous storage compartments and flexible seating arrangements to accommodate various usage scenarios.
Safety Systems in the Kia PV5
The Kia PV5 is equipped with a comprehensive suite of safety and driver assistance systems, including Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), Electronic Stability Control (ESC), and multiple airbags for occupant protection. The vehicle also features a rearview camera along with front and rear parking sensors to facilitate maneuvering in tight spaces, enhancing both safety and convenience during daily driving.
