JAC RF8 PHEV Arrives with 416 HP and 1150 km Range to Shake Up the Hybrid Family SUV Segment
JAC Egypt has launched the RF8 PHEV, a seven-seat family SUV with a plug-in hybrid powertrain producing a combined 416 hp and 745 Nm of torque. It uses a 27.59 kWh LFP battery for 150 km of electric range and a declared 1150 km combined range under CLTC. The vehicle measures 5215 mm long with a 3100 mm wheelbase, seats seven in a 2+2+3 layout and offers 700 to 2500 litres of boot space.
JAC Egypt has officially launched the JAC RF8 PHEV, a seven-seat family SUV with a plug-in hybrid powertrain. The headline figure is 416 horsepower, a number that puts the new model in direct competition within Egypt's growing hybrid SUV segment. The announcement was made by Eng. Seif Badawy, Managing Director of JAC Egypt, who outlined a package of comfort, technology and safety features aimed at families and buyers seeking space and practicality.
416 HP and 745 Nm from a 1.5L Turbo Hybrid Powertrain
The JAC RF8 PHEV pairs a 1.5-litre turbocharged GDI petrol engine with a dedicated three-speed hybrid transmission and front-wheel drive. Total system output reaches 416 hp, while combined torque peaks at 745 Nm. Those numbers suggest the RF8 isn't just an economy play — it delivers performance that rivals higher segments. The powertrain setup marks a significant step forward for JAC in the family hybrid space.
LFP Battery, 150 km Electric Range and 1150 km Combined
A liquid-cooled LFP battery from CALB, rated at 27.59 kWh, underpins the JAC RF8 PHEV. It delivers a pure electric range of up to 150 km, while the declared combined range stands at 1150 km under the CLTC standard. A 54-litre fuel tank adds flexibility between electric driving and hybrid operation. That combined range tackles one of the biggest concerns for local buyers — charging anxiety on long trips.
40 kW Fast Charging and 3.3 kW V2L Capability
Fast charging is supported at up to 40 kW, taking the battery from 30% to 80% in roughly 30 minutes. A full slow charge takes around 4.5 hours according to the declared specifications. The JAC RF8 PHEV also supports V2L technology at 3.3 kW, allowing external electrical appliances to run off the battery, with a 220V outlet provided through a power converter. It's a practical feature that adds real-world usability beyond the daily commute.
Spacious Dimensions, Seven Seats and Up to 2500 Litres
Measuring 5215 mm long, 1895 mm wide and 1830 mm tall, with a 3100 mm wheelbase, the JAC RF8 PHEV offers generous interior space. The cabin seats seven across three rows in a 2+2+3 layout, while boot capacity ranges from 700 to 2500 litres. Those dimensions confirm the RF8 is built for large families needing flexible cargo space. The JAC brand now has a serious contender in the seven-seat hybrid SUV class.
With the launch of the JAC RF8 PHEV, the brand enters direct competition in the family hybrid SUV segment, combining 416 hp, 1150 km combined range and seven seats. Competition in this class is intensifying as buyers shift toward hybrid solutions that balance performance and fuel consumption. The new model brings strong numbers and practical equipment to the table.
