IM LS9 Launches in Egypt with 1,400 km Range: Mansour Automotive Unveils Electric Luxury SUV
Mansour Automotive Group, the exclusive distributor of IM Motors in Egypt, has officially launched the luxury sports utility vehicle IM LS9 in the local market, entering the growing segment of extended-range electric vehicles. The new model boasts a total driving range exceeding 1,400 kilometers, positioning it as a compelling choice for those seeking a blend of premium comfort, advanced technology, and long-distance reliability without the typical range anxiety associated with pure electric vehicles.
REEV Technology: A Smart Solution for Electric Driving
The IM LS9 is the first model from IM Motors in Egypt to feature Range-Extended Electric Vehicle technology. This innovative system relies on a dual-motor all-wheel-drive setup powered by electricity, supported by a small 1.5-liter turbocharged petrol engine. Critically, this engine does not drive the wheels directly; instead, it functions solely as a generator, recharging the battery when needed. This architecture dramatically reduces concerns about driving range and the availability of charging stations, particularly valuable on long highway journeys or in areas with limited charging infrastructure.
The IM LS9 arrives in two trims: the Ultra, fitted with 21-inch alloy wheels, priced at EGP 3.5 million, and the Opulent, with 22-inch wheels, at EGP 3.6 million. The spacious cabin accommodates up to six passengers and is underpinned by the Super Extended-Range System. This powertrain incorporates a 52 kWh CATL Freevoy Super Hybrid battery, enabling a pure electric range of 300 kilometers according to the NEDC standard. Combined with the generator function of the petrol engine, the total range surpasses 1,400 kilometers, offering exceptional freedom for long-distance travel.
Impressive Performance and Advanced Dynamic Systems
Powered by a 800-volt electrical architecture, the IM LS9 delivers robust performance through its intelligent all-wheel-drive system. The combined output stands at 510 horsepower and 670 Nm of torque, enabling the large SUV to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.9 seconds, while its top speed is electronically limited to 220 km/h—figures that place it among the quickest in its luxury SUV class.
To enhance occupant comfort, the LS9 is equipped with an active noise control system designed to minimize road and powertrain sounds, ensuring a serene and relaxing cabin atmosphere. Furthermore, the vehicle features the IM Digital Chassis system, which includes a four-wheel steering system capable of turning the rear wheels by up to 24 degrees. This sophisticated technology dramatically improves maneuverability, allowing the LS9 to achieve a tight turning radius of just 4.95 meters—an impressive feat for a vehicle of its size. This makes navigating narrow city streets and crowded parking lots significantly easier, reinforcing the LS9's position as a highly capable and luxurious contender in Egypt's evolving electric vehicle market.
