Hyundai Venue Nears Local Production in Egypt: Launch Expected in Q3 2026
The Egyptian automotive market is on the verge of welcoming a new locally assembled model, as Ghabbour Auto, the official distributor of Hyundai in Egypt, prepares to introduce a compact crossover. Industry sources strongly suggest that the upcoming model is the Hyundai Venue, which will join the growing list of vehicles assembled domestically, supporting the country's push for deeper local manufacturing.
Final Testing Phase Before Official Launch
Ghabbour Auto is currently in the final stages of preparation for local production, conducting comprehensive operational tests to ensure the vehicle meets Egyptian road conditions and quality standards. The official rollout of the new model is expected to begin in the third quarter of 2026, marking a significant addition to the local assembly lineup.
Utilizing Idle Production Capacity
This move is part of Ghabbour Auto's broader strategy to expand its locally manufactured portfolio and optimize production capacity. The company currently operates with significant unused capacity following the discontinuation of the Hyundai Accent RB local assembly, leaving only the Hyundai Elantra AD in production. Adding the Venue will help utilize this idle capacity more efficiently and improve economies of scale.
Engine Options and Expected Specifications
The Hyundai Venue is a subcompact SUV, positioned below the Hyundai Creta and Hyundai Kona but larger than the Hyundai Casper. Built on a platform shared with the Indian market version, the Venue offers a range of powertrains including a 1.0-liter turbo, a 1.2-liter naturally aspirated, and a 1.6-liter engine. Power output ranges from 83 to 121 horsepower, with front-wheel drive as standard and both manual and automatic transmission options available depending on the trim.
With local assembly expected to bring a competitive price advantage, the Hyundai Venue is likely to attract buyers seeking an affordable, practical, and well-equipped crossover. More details regarding available trims, features, and official pricing are expected to be announced closer to the launch date in the coming months.
