Geely to Launch New Starray, City Ray, and Monjaro in Egypt
Geely is gearing up to strengthen its footprint in the Egyptian market with the introduction of three new models, following a high-level meeting between the Chinese automaker and its local distributor, Automobility. The move is part of the brand's ambitious expansion strategy in Egypt, which has been gaining significant momentum recently.
Meeting Highlights with Chinese Delegation
Automobility, the second official distributor of Geely vehicles in Egypt, hosted a senior delegation from the parent company, led by Alex Nan, General Manager of GAIC. Nan met with Fahad Al Ghanim, Chairman of Automobility's Board of Directors, to discuss partnership development and future product plans for the local market.
Upcoming Models Revealed
The meeting unveiled three new models set to join Geely's lineup in Egypt: the all-new Geely Starray, the new Geely City Ray, and the Geely Monjaro. These additions complement the brand's expanding portfolio in the local market, which has been witnessing growing consumer interest.
Local Manufacturing and Expansion Plans
Beyond new models, discussions also covered plans to expand local manufacturing. Geely currently produces the Emgrand and Coolray models in Egypt through Automobility, a move that has successfully strengthened the brand's local presence. Both companies aim to increase production capacity and explore export opportunities to Middle Eastern and African markets, potentially transforming Egypt into a regional hub for Geely vehicle manufacturing and export.
Strong Sales Performance in 2026
Geely sales in Egypt have seen remarkable growth in the first half of 2026, reaching figures equivalent to its total sales for the entire year of 2025. This strong performance highlights the rising demand for the Chinese brand's vehicles in the Egyptian market and supports its future expansion plans.
