GB Auto Officially Launches iCAUR in Egypt, Reveals V27 with 1000 km Range
GB Auto has officially introduced the iCAUR brand to Egypt, unveiling the V27 extended-range electric vehicle as its first model. The V27 offers a combined range of up to 1000 km using a REEV system with a 1.5-liter turbo generator. It comes in Play and Wild trims priced at EGP 1,900,000 and EGP 1,150,000 respectively. The SUV features a boxy design with a 715-liter trunk and substantial dimensions.
GB Auto, the exclusive distributor of iCAUR in Egypt, has officially launched the Chinese brand in the local market, unveiling the iCAUR V27 as its first model — an extended-range electric vehicle (REEV) that promises a combined range of up to 1000 kilometers. The V27 arrives in two trims, Play and Wild, with prices starting at EGP 1,900,000 for the Play and EGP 1,150,000 for the Wild.
iCAUR V27: Electric Power with a Range-Extender Twist
The V27 relies on a REEV powertrain where electric motors drive the wheels, while a 1.5-liter turbocharged petrol engine acts purely as a generator when the battery runs low — it never directly powers the wheels. This setup delivers a total range approaching 1000 km under the NEDC cycle with a full battery and a full fuel tank, giving drivers the option to charge electrically or simply refuel like a conventional car.
Design-wise, the V27 adopts a bold, boxy exterior with geometric lines and generous customization options, staying true to iCAUR's philosophy of putting lifestyle at the heart of its vehicles. The SUV measures 5045 mm in length, 1976 mm in width, and 1894 mm in height, riding on a 2900 mm wheelbase, while cargo space stands at a generous 715 liters.
Two Trims, Two Different Buyer Profiles
The gap between the trims is significant. The Play trim delivers a fuller experience at EGP 1,900,000, while the Wild targets a broader audience at EGP 1,150,000. Egypt's new-energy vehicle market is clearly heating up, and iCAUR's long-range proposition could be a genuine differentiator.
With iCAUR entering the fray, competition in the extended-range EV segment is intensifying, especially with alternatives like BYD and Chery already present. The real test will be whether the V27's combination of long range, rugged looks, and competitive pricing can win over Egyptian buyers in the months ahead.
