Chevrolet Gearing Up to Launch Groove in Egypt: 4 Current Passenger Cars You Should Know

General Motors, the parent company of the Chevrolet brand, is preparing to introduce the Chevrolet Groove SUV to the Egyptian market for the first time in the coming weeks. The new Groove will be produced locally at Chevrolet's factories in Egypt, in partnership with Al-Mansour Automotive, the official local distributor. The addition of the Groove expands Chevrolet's passenger car lineup in Egypt, which currently includes sedan and SUV models, as well as fully electric offerings.

Current Gas-Powered Chevrolet Models

Chevrolet currently offers two gasoline-powered passenger cars in Egypt. The first is the Chevrolet Optra, assembled locally at the company's factory in 6th of October City. The Optra is available in two trims: a base version priced at EGP 764,900 and a higher-spec variant at EGP 789,900. It is powered by a 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine producing 98 horsepower and 140 Nm of torque, paired with an 8-speed CVT automatic transmission.

The second model is the Chevrolet Captiva, a seven-seat SUV in its 2026 iteration. Al-Mansour Automotive offers the latest Captiva at a starting official price of around EGP 1,200,000. The Captiva features a turbocharged four-cylinder engine, delivering robust performance suitable for families seeking a practical and spacious SUV.

Chevrolet's Electric Vehicle Lineup

Alongside its petrol models, Chevrolet also provides fully electric vehicles in Egypt, including models like the Chevrolet Bolt EV. These EVs offer pure electric performance with a driving range suitable for daily commutes. This aligns with Chevrolet's strategy to strengthen its presence in Egypt's growing electric vehicle market, as the brand prepares to introduce more future models.

With the imminent launch of the Chevrolet Groove, Egyptian customers now have a wider range of choices, from practical sedans like the Optra to family-oriented SUVs like the Captiva and clean electric solutions.
