General Motors, the American parent company of the Chevrolet brand, in collaboration with its local distributor Al Mansour Automotive, is preparing to introduce the Chevrolet Groove SUV to the Egyptian market for the first time in the coming weeks. This move is part of the American brand's expansion strategy in the region, relying on local manufacturing to meet the rising demand for compact SUVs.

Local Assembly Boosts National Industry

The Chevrolet Groove is the latest model from the American brand to be produced locally at the company's factories in Egypt, becoming the fourth car to carry the "Made in Egypt" badge, alongside the Chevrolet Optra sedan and the two commercial vehicles, Chevrolet Dababa and Chevrolet Jumbo. General Motors is expanding its production base in the Egyptian market to benefit from government incentives under the national strategy for localizing the automotive industry, which aims to deepen local manufacturing and raise the local content ratio to 60%.

Powerful Engine and Advanced Performance

The car is powered by a 1.5-liter turbocharged petrol engine, producing 145 horsepower and 255 Nm of torque, paired with a continuously variable transmission (CVT) and front-wheel drive. This configuration delivers balanced performance suitable for daily city driving and highway cruising, with relatively economical fuel consumption thanks to the turbo engine technology and the advanced CVT gearbox.

Bold Exterior Design and Modern Cabin

The Groove features a newly designed front grille and prominent bumpers, giving it a more commanding road presence. It is available in Middle Eastern markets in two trims: LT and RS. The car comes with a 10.25-inch infotainment screen supporting Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The RS trim receives a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, offering a more advanced driving experience compared to the traditional analog gauges in lower-spec variants. The cabin accommodates five passengers, with 60:40 split-folding rear seats, allowing increased storage space when transporting luggage or large items.

The Chevrolet Groove represents a significant addition to the compact SUV segment in the Egyptian market, combining local manufacturing that supports the national economy with modern specifications that meet consumer expectations for a practical and attractive vehicle at a competitive price. Official pricing and full specifications will be announced when bookings open in the coming weeks.
