Cheapest Hybrid SUV in Egypt July 2026: MG HS HEV Price, Specs & Features
The Egyptian automotive market is witnessing a growing shift toward hybrid vehicles, and the MG HS HEV now stands as the most affordable hybrid option available this July. Mansour Automotive, the official local distributor for the Chinese brand, has announced the latest pricing for the 2026 model year of this hybrid sport utility vehicle, solidifying its position as the cheapest hybrid car currently on offer in the Egyptian market.
Engine, Performance, and Fuel Economy
The MG HS HEV is powered by a hybrid electric vehicle (HEV) powertrain, combining a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine that delivers 221 horsepower and 340 Nm of peak torque. The system is mated to a third-generation EDU gearbox (EDU Gen 3), drawing energy from a 1.8 kWh battery pack. This configuration enables an impressive fuel consumption rate of just 5.5 liters per 100 kilometers, making it an economical choice for daily commuting. The MG HS accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 9.6 seconds and reaches a top speed of 190 km/h.
Exterior Design and Dimensions
The vehicle features a sporty and aggressive exterior, with a bold front grille and daytime running LED lights. It comes equipped with power-adjustable side mirrors featuring heating elements, as well as a keyless entry system for both doors and the trunk. The car rides on 18-inch sport alloy wheels, enhancing its road presence. In terms of dimensions, the SUV measures 4,574 mm in length, 1,875 mm in width, and 1,685 mm in height, offering a commanding stance and generous interior space.
Interior Comfort and Infotainment
Inside the cabin, the MG HS provides a well-equipped driving environment. It includes paddle shifters mounted behind the multi-function steering wheel and five selectable driving modes. The sport seats come with a heating function, and a panoramic sunroof adds to the sense of spaciousness. At the center of the dashboard is a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, while multicolor ambient lighting creates a modern atmosphere inside the cabin.
Safety and Driver Assistance Systems
Safety is a priority in the MG HS HEV, which comes with six airbags including curtain airbags. It is also equipped with an Electronic Stability Program (ESP) and Cornering Brake Control (CBC) system. Tire pressure monitoring (TPMS) is included to enhance safety awareness. These advanced safety features make the MG HS HEV a well-rounded offering that balances fuel efficiency, robust performance, and comprehensive safety, explaining its strong appeal in the Egyptian market during July 2026.
