This sighting signals that the updated model is nearing its official launch in the local market, as part of the company's broader plans to expand its vehicle lineup and cater to a wider range of customers.

Pre-Launch Preparations Underway

According to informed sources, the appearance of the Changan Eado Plus in the storage yards is part of the preliminary procedures being carried out by GB Auto ahead of the new model's official launch. This step falls within the company's strategy to strengthen the Chinese brand's presence and boost its competitive edge in the Egyptian market, particularly amid intense competition in the compact sedan segment.

Local Assembly and Cost Reduction Strategy

The company is currently studying the expansion of its local production lines by adding new models, most notably the updated version of the Changan Eado Plus. This move aims to increase reliance on local manufacturing and raise the percentage of locally sourced components, which directly contributes to reducing production costs. As a result, the final price of the vehicle is expected to be more competitive compared to fully imported models.

The sources also indicated that GB Auto is currently carrying out a series of technical preparations for the new model. These include operational tests and thorough technical evaluations, as well as ensuring the vehicle complies with all operating standards and requirements applicable in the Egyptian market. A limited number of new Eado Plus units have been imported as initial samples to conduct the necessary technical and operational tests before final steps are taken toward the commercial launch.

GB Auto is accelerating the implementation of its local manufacturing expansion plans, especially in light of the positive results achieved by the Chinese brand after starting local assembly of the Changan CS55 Plus and Eado models. This approach has contributed to enhancing the brand's presence and increasing its market share over the past period, reflecting the success of the local manufacturing strategy in improving the competitiveness of Chinese cars in Egypt.

According to data from the Egyptian Compulsory Vehicle Insurance Pool, Changan ranked 14th among the most registered passenger car brands in Egypt during the first five months of this year. The Chinese brand recorded approximately 2,904 registered vehicles across various traffic departments nationwide, reflecting the steady growth in demand for its cars in the local market.
