BYD Sealion 6 Fully Electric Officially Launches in Egypt for the First Time

ManDream, the official distributor of BYD in Egypt, has announced the launch of the fully electric BYD Sealion 6 EV in the local market for the first time. This move expands the Chinese brand's presence in the SUV segment, as the model was previously available only in the DM-i plug-in hybrid variant.

Powertrain and Performance

The BYD Sealion 6 EV is powered by a fully electric drivetrain equipped with Blade Battery technology. It is offered in two range options: up to 420 kilometers and up to 520 kilometers per charge, depending on the trim. The vehicle features an 8-in-1 Electric Powertrain system that integrates key components into a single unit to improve efficiency and reduce energy consumption. It also includes a Heat Pump system that enhances battery efficiency and maintains driving range under varying climatic conditions.

Dimensions and Features

The BYD Sealion 6 EV belongs to the mid-size SUV category, with a length of 4,775 mm, width of 1,890 mm, height of 1,670 mm, and a wheelbase of 2,765 mm, offering generous interior space for passengers. The rear trunk has a capacity of 425 liters, providing ample storage for family use. BYD has equipped the vehicle with a range of features aimed at enhancing the electric ownership experience, including a V2L external power supply unit, a Home Wall Box Charger, and a portable charging cable, offering owners greater flexibility for charging at home or on the go.

Pricing in Egypt

The BYD Sealion 6 EV is available in the Egyptian market in two trims. The Ultra trim, equipped with a 71 kWh battery and a range of up to 420 km, is priced at approximately EGP 1,749,900. The Luxury trim, featuring an 87 kWh battery and a range of up to 520 km, has an official price that has not yet been fully disclosed.
