2027 BYD Dolphin Surf EV: Prices and Specs for the Egyptian Market
ManDream, the exclusive local distributor of BYD in Egypt, has announced the availability of the all-new BYD Dolphin Surf electric vehicle for the 2027 model year in the local market. Positioned as the most affordable model in the Chinese brand's lineup for July, the new electric hatchback is priced at EGP 949,900, offering a compelling entry point into electric mobility.
Powertrain and Electric Performance
The BYD Dolphin Surf is powered by a 38.88 kWh lithium-ion battery pack paired with an electric motor producing 75 horsepower. It supports home charging via a Type 2 AC connector, as well as CCS fast charging, which can fully replenish the battery in just 30 minutes. Under normal driving conditions, the vehicle can cover up to 300 kilometers, though this range drops to 220 kilometers on highways in colder weather. The top speed is electronically limited to 130 km/h.
Dimensions and Interior Features
The Dolphin Surf measures 3,780 mm in length, 1,540 mm in width, and 1,715 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,500 mm. The gross vehicle weight at maximum load reaches 2,068 kg. Inside, the five-seat cabin features a central touchscreen display compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, enabling seamless smartphone connectivity and app integration. Additional equipment includes a premium sound system, automatic climate control, smart key entry, and NFC technology support.
Safety and Driver Assistance Systems
Safety is a priority in the BYD Dolphin Surf, which comes equipped with a tire pressure monitoring system, anti-lock braking system (ABS), electronic brake-force distribution (EBD), electronic stability control (ESC), and hill-start assist control (HHC). The vehicle also includes front and side airbags for occupant protection, along with rear parking sensors and a rearview camera to assist with low-speed maneuvers in tight spaces.
