All-New BMW iX3 Launches in Egypt as First Neue Klasse Model
Global Auto Group, the official distributor of BMW in Egypt, has announced the launch of the all-new fully electric BMW iX3 for the first time in the Egyptian market. The unveiling took place in front of the iconic tower in the New Administrative Capital, reflecting the brand's ambition to bring its latest electric technology to local customers. The vehicle arrives with an impressive electric range of up to 805 kilometers.
The Return of the Historic Neue Klasse Name
More than half a century after the first Neue Klasse model transformed BMW's identity in the 1960s, the name returns with what is arguably the company's most important car in decades. The all-new BMW iX3 is a fully electric Sports Activity Vehicle (SAV) that carries the legacy of the past while reshaping the future. It serves as the first model from the Neue Klasse generation, setting the course for the brand in the electric era.
Strategic Location Symbolizing the Future
The choice of the New Administrative Capital, specifically the iconic tower—the tallest skyscraper in Africa—was deliberate to reflect the message behind the new vehicle. Just as the new capital represents one of Egypt's most modern urban projects and a clear symbol of forward-looking ambition, the BMW iX3 represents a qualitative leap toward tomorrow. It marks the most significant step for BMW in years, opening a new chapter in the German brand's history in the fully electric vehicle segment.
Global Accolades Before Egyptian Arrival
The BMW iX3 arrives in Egypt after winning both the World Car of the Year 2026 and World Electric Vehicle 2026 titles at the New York International Auto Show earlier this year. This achievement underscores its status as one of the most important new vehicles on the global stage, thanks to its distinctive design, advanced technologies, and exceptional driving experience, positioning it as a strong contender in the luxury electric vehicle segment.
Performance Specifications and Drivetrain
The new vehicle is available in Egypt as the BMW iX3 50 xDrive trim, featuring two electric motors on the front and rear axles with the advanced xDrive all-wheel-drive system. The powertrain delivers a maximum output of 469 horsepower and peak torque of 645 Newton meters. This configuration provides exceptional sporty performance while maintaining energy efficiency, making it suitable for both daily commuting and long-distance travel.
Advanced Battery and Fastest Charging
The most notable feature of the newcomer is its advanced electric battery with a capacity of 113.4 kWh, capable of delivering an electric driving range of up to 805 kilometers. This range surpasses competing models and makes the BMW iX3 suitable for both long journeys and daily urban commutes. The vehicle also supports DC fast charging at up to 400 kW, allowing an additional 372 kilometers of range in just 10 minutes at a compatible charging station. Charging the battery from 10% to 80% takes only 21 minutes, making the BMW iX3 the fastest-charging model yet, backed by an advanced electronic and software architecture featuring four central computers to manage all vehicle systems.
