All-New GAC S9 Prepares for Its Egyptian Debut as a Strong Chinese Rival

Gamil Motors, the exclusive local distributor of the Chinese GAC brand in Egypt, is gearing up to introduce the all-new GAC S9 in the coming period. This model stands as one of the largest and most luxurious SUVs under the Chinese automaker's badge, belonging to the full-size SUV segment.

Global Unveiling

The GAC S9 made its global debut at the Shanghai Auto Show, drawing attention with its massive dimensions and premium design. Now, it is set to enter the Egyptian market with strong ambitions, positioning itself as a serious competitor in the large SUV category.

Engine and Performance Specifications

The GAC S9 is powered by a Range Extended Electric Vehicle (REEV) system, featuring two electric motors—one on the front axle and one on the rear—providing an all-wheel-drive electric setup. A 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine acts as a generator to charge the battery and extend the driving range. The total system output is 340 horsepower, with a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of 7.2 seconds.

Driving Range and Charging

The vehicle is equipped with a 44.5 kWh battery supplied by CATL, offering an all-electric driving range of up to 208 kilometers. The total combined driving range reaches 1,019 kilometers according to the NEDC standard. Fast charging capability allows the battery to go from 30% to 80% in just 15 minutes.

Exterior Dimensions

The GAC S9 is a full-size SUV, measuring 5,060 mm in length, 1,950 mm in width, and 1,760 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,930 mm. These dimensions place it among the roomiest vehicles in its class, providing generous interior space for passengers.

The interior of the GAC S9 features premium materials, including Nappa leather and natural wood trim. The seats are designed with multiple layers for enhanced comfort during long journeys. The vehicle also comes equipped with massage functions for the seats, highlighting the advanced comfort and luxury features of the cabin.
