Nissan Reveals November Launch for Rogue e-Power Hybrid in the US
Nissan is set to launch the Rogue e-Power hybrid in the U.S. market this November, marking the first broad introduction of e-Power technology in the United States. The company aims for hybrids to represent 30% to 40% of its mid-size C-segment sales shortly. Nissan also plans to bring the Kicks e-Power to the U.S. and Canada and expand hybrid systems to larger SUVs and pickups.
Nissan has confirmed that its Rogue hybrid equipped with e-Power technology will arrive in the U.S. market this November. The move marks the first broad introduction of e-Power in the United States, following more than two million e-Power-equipped vehicles sold globally. The count is impressive.
Nissan targets 30% to 40% of C-segment hybrid sales
Christian Monnier, Nissan's chairman for the Americas, said the company aims for hybrids to account for 30% to 40% of total mid-size C-segment sales in the U.S. market within a short period. He made the remarks during a media roundtable at Nissan's headquarters in Yokohama, Japan. The target is bold.
The e-Power system works differently from conventional hybrids. A gasoline engine generates electricity, while the electric drive system alone powers the wheels. That means the wheels are driven entirely by an electric motor, with the combustion engine acting only as a generator. The driving experience feels closer to a pure EV without range anxiety. This technology was not previously available in the U.S.. The Rogue will be its first widespread appearance there.
Nissan plans e-Power expansion to Kicks, larger SUVs and pickups
According to Reuters, Nissan also intends to launch the Kicks e-Power hybrid in the United States and Canada as soon as possible, according to the company's Americas chief. The automaker is also studying expanding hybrid powertrains to larger SUV models and pickup trucks in the coming years. The plan covers a broader product portfolio.
The expansion comes as competition in the U.S. hybrid market heats up, with several automakers pushing for more fuel-efficient options. Nissan is betting on e-Power as a differentiator in this segment. The race is tight.
Nissan has not yet disclosed pricing for the Rogue hybrid in the U.S. or full specifications. But with the November date confirmed, official pricing details are likely to follow soon. Anticipation is building.
