Hyundai Unveils Electric Three-Wheeler for Asian and African Markets

Hyundai has unveiled its new small electric vehicle E3W, a three-wheeled model developed in partnership with India's TVS Motor Company, a specialist in motorcycle manufacturing. The new vehicle is designed to offer practical mobility solutions for Asian and African markets where tuk-tuks and small delivery vehicles dominate city streets.

An Electric Vehicle Built for Commercial Use

The E3W made its first appearance during the CEO Investor Day event in Seoul, South Korea, targeting regions with high concentrations of small commercial vehicles. A standout feature is its height-adjustable body, which gives it greater capability to handle varying operating conditions — especially in areas prone to flooding and waterlogged roads.

Hyundai has already begun development work on the vehicle alongside its Indian partner, as reported by Car and Driver. The new model represents a significant shift in the light mobility concept, combining electric powertrain efficiency with practical design tailored to emerging market needs. Practical Design Focused on Driver Comfort

The cabin features a design centered on ergonomics and driver comfort, complete with an integrated phone holder. Interior panels draw inspiration from pegboard storage systems, allowing drivers to configure tool and supply storage according to their daily requirements.
