Top 10 Best-Selling Electric Vehicle Brands in Egypt During May
The monthly report from the Egyptian Compulsory Vehicle Insurance Pool has revealed detailed sales figures for new cars in Egypt during May, with a particular focus on the electric vehicle market. According to the report, a total of 2,123 electric vehicles were newly registered and sold in May, including 1,600 all-electric passenger cars.
Electric Vehicle Sales Ranking in Egypt During May
BYD topped the sales chart last month with 465 electric vehicles sold, reinforcing its strong position in the Egyptian market. DFSK secured second place with 202 units, followed by MCV in third with 100 units.
The remaining positions saw notable competition, with Xpeng ranking fourth at 96 units, Volkswagen fifth at 91 units, Geely sixth at 87 units, Arkvox seventh at 84 units, Debal eighth at 78 units, Nissan ninth at 76 units, and Zeekr rounding out the top ten with 69 units.
Sales Breakdown by Fuel Type in Egypt
The report also provided a comprehensive breakdown of vehicle sales by fuel type, covering both new and used cars. Petrol-powered vehicles led the market with 285,862 units, followed by diesel vehicles at 98,000 units. Bi-fuel petrol and natural gas vehicles totaled 11,749 units, while electric vehicles accounted for 2,123 units.
