Rolls-Royce Boosts Spectre EV Range by 18% in Second-Generation Update
Three years after its initial market launch, British luxury carmaker Rolls-Royce has introduced a comprehensive update to its all-electric two-door grand coupe, the Spectre, now in its second generation.
According to Car and Driver, the new Spectre looks largely unchanged from the outside compared to the original 2024 model, but it brings a host of improvements including increased range, enhanced torque, and more opulent interior appointments.
18% Range Improvement
Thanks to what Rolls-Royce calls 're-engineered battery cell technology,' the Spectre's range has improved by 18%. Under the optimistic European WLTP cycle, the new Spectre will cover 390 miles before needing a recharge, which translates to 326 miles under U.S. EPA standards—up from 277 miles for the current model.
Rolls-Royce also claims that charging time for the new Spectre's battery is approximately 14% quicker than before.
More Power, More Torque
While the original Spectre's dual-motor powertrain already delivered immense performance, Rolls-Royce decided to push it further. In the standard trim, power rises from 577 to 592 horsepower, while torque jumps from 664 to 748 lb-ft. The Black Badge variant tops out at 670 horsepower and 811 lb-ft of torque—an increase of 20 hp and 18 lb-ft, respectively.
Interior and Exterior Refinements
Rolls-Royce has also added several cabin enhancements to make the new Spectre even more luxurious and personalized. While the exterior design remains largely unchanged—featuring the signature split headlamps flanking the prominent Pantheon grille—the marque introduces a new paint color called 'Aetherial Blue' and new 23-inch aluminum alloy wheels.
Pricing and Availability
The British automaker has not yet announced pricing for the new Spectre, which is expected to hit the market next year. However, the base price is likely to be slightly higher than the current model's $397,750 starting point, while the Black Badge edition starts at $467,750.
