Mitsubishi Motors has officially unveiled the 2027 Eclipse Sportback EV, reviving the iconic Eclipse nameplate for the electric era. This time, however, the legendary badge adorns a battery-electric compact SUV rather than the sporty coupe that made it famous for decades.

Electric Strategy Takes Shape

The new model is part of Mitsubishi's broader strategy to expand its electric vehicle lineup. It is built on the next-generation Nissan Leaf platform, leveraging the ongoing collaboration between Nissan and Mitsubishi within the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance. Despite sharing its underpinnings, the Eclipse Sportback features a bespoke exterior design that gives it a distinct identity from its platform sibling.

Bold Design Language

While full technical specifications have yet to be released, official images reveal a more aggressive front fascia with unique lighting elements, redesigned front and rear bumpers, and exclusive alloy wheels.
