Lexus is entering 2026 with bolder steps in the electric vehicle market, having expanded its lineup beyond the RZ crossover. For the first time, the brand is offering fully electric versions of its luxury sedan, the ES, as part of a strategy that blends electric and hybrid models rather than a sudden full transition to battery-powered vehicles.

Lexus ES Electric Starts Lower Than the Hybrid Version

Lexus has unveiled the eighth-generation ES, now available for the first time in two all-electric variants: the front-wheel-drive ES 350e and the dual-motor all-wheel-drive ES 500e. The ES 350e Premium starts at $48,895, while the ES 500e Premium AWD begins at $51,895. Higher Luxury trims are priced at $57,295 for the ES 350e and approximately $60,295 for the ES 500e. The surprise lies in the fact that the base ES 350e electric version is priced lower than the ES 350h hybrid, which starts at $51,095 including delivery fees in the U.S. market. It is important to note that these prices do not reflect availability in Arab or Egyptian markets, as final costs vary based on duties, taxes, shipping, and local distributor policies.

Single Battery Pack with Two Performance Options

Both electric ES versions share a 74.7 kWh lithium-ion battery pack, though their powertrains differ. The ES 350e features a single electric motor with front-wheel drive, offering an estimated range of 307 miles (approximately 494 kilometers) according to EPA estimates. The ES 500e, on the other hand, uses two electric motors with all-wheel drive, delivering stronger performance and quicker response at the expense of some range compared to the front-wheel-drive variant. Both models support DC fast charging, capable of charging the battery from 10% to 80% in about 30 minutes under ideal conditions, along with an 11 kW onboard charger for AC charging.

RZ 2026: Over 400 HP and Extended Range

Lexus updates were not limited to the ES. The RZ electric crossover received significant boosts in power, range, and charging speed, along with the introduction of a sporty variant exceeding 400 horsepower. These enhancements aim to strengthen the RZ's position in the luxury electric crossover segment, with improvements in dynamic performance and driving experience.

More Luxurious Cabin and New Safety Technologies

The new ES features a more luxurious cabin with high-quality materials and an updated interior design, alongside the latest Lexus safety and security technologies. Equipment includes a 14-inch infotainment display, an advanced audio system, and a comprehensive suite of advanced driver-assistance systems that enhance comfort and safety on the road.
