Huawei is no longer content with just smartphones and telecom networks. The tech giant has now entered the luxury automotive arena with the Maextro S800, a massive electric sedan that directly targets historic names like Rolls-Royce and Mercedes-Maybach, both in China and abroad.

Developed with JAC Under the HIMA Alliance

The new vehicle was developed in collaboration with JAC as part of the HIMA alliance backed by Huawei. It marks the first model under the Maextro luxury brand, featuring a massive design and unprecedented technological equipment. The goal is to introduce a new concept of luxury based on artificial intelligence and digital technologies, rather than relying on the traditional heritage of European brands.

Design Nearing Limousine Proportions

The Maextro S800 measures nearly 5.5 meters in length with a massive wheelbase of 3370 mm, giving it a visual presence closer to luxury limousines. The car adopts a two-tone design with a bold front fascia, advanced lighting, and dense chrome accents inspired by the world of yachts and private jets.

Through this sedan, Huawei aims to deliver Chinese luxury with a digital character. The cabin is filled with screens, interactive lighting, and intelligent control systems, rather than focusing solely on traditional wood and leather.

Cinematic Screen and 40 Speakers

One of the standout features inside the S800 is its tech-laden cabin, which includes a massive entertainment screen measuring approximately 40 inches, along with an audio system boasting around 40 speakers. The rear seats are luxurious, equipped with massage functions and relaxation positions similar to first-class airline seats.

The car also features a starlight roof, gesture-controlled doors, and advanced self-parking systems powered by Huawei's proprietary AI technologies.

Range Exceeding 1300 km

The S800 is available in fully electric versions as well as electric models with a Range Extender engine. Some variants achieve a driving range exceeding 1300 kilometers, with ultra-fast charging systems reaching up to 6C in certain trims.

The fully electric version offers a range between approximately 650 and 700 km, with power output exceeding 850 horsepower in the highest-spec variants.

Huangwei Bets on Smart Luxury

Notably, Huawei is not attempting to compete with European automakers in the traditional way. Instead, it relies on what analysts call digital luxury, flooding the vehicle with technology and intelligent systems.
