Under 750,000 EGP. The all-new Geely Galaxy EX2 has officially entered the Egyptian market as the cheapest electric vehicle from the Chinese brand, distributed locally by Abu Ghaly Motors. This compact crossover SUV arrives fully electric, aiming to expand zero-emission mobility options in Egypt during July 2026. The price point is aggressive — and the market is watching closely.

Two Trims, Competitive Pricing

The Galaxy EX2 is available in two equipment grades. The base PRO trim starts at 749,900 EGP, while the higher-spec MAX variant reaches 849,900 EGP. The gap between them isn't massive, but it reflects a clear hierarchy in features and cabin technology. Egypt's EV segment now has a new entry-level benchmark that challenges conventional petrol cars on price.

Rear-Wheel Drive and Urban Agility

Power goes to the rear wheels — an unusual choice at this price level. The sprint from 0 to 50 km/h takes just 4.6 seconds. Top speed is capped at 130 km/h. The turning radius measures only 4.95 meters, making tight city maneuvers surprisingly effortless. These numbers position the EX2 as a genuinely practical urban EV, not just a styling exercise.

Inside, the cabin offers 36 separate storage compartments. The rear boot provides 375 liters of cargo space, expandable to 1,320 liters with the rear seats folded flat. Rear legroom is generous, enhancing passenger comfort during daily commutes and longer road trips alike. Practicality clearly drove the design brief.

Tech-Heavy Cockpit

A massive 14.6-inch central infotainment screen dominates the dashboard, paired with an 8.8-inch digital instrument cluster. The system runs on Flyme Auto software, delivering fast and intuitive operation. Wireless phone charging, keyless smart entry. Remote vehicle control via a smartphone app are all standard equipment.

The ambient lighting and audio system round out the experience, though specific feature details vary between the two trims. Geely is betting big on technology to differentiate the EX2 in a crowded crossover segment. The early signs suggest it might just work.
