G B Auto Slashes Genesis G80 Electric Prices by Up to EGP 1.25 Million in Egypt
G B Auto, the local distributor of Genesis in Egypt, has announced substantial price reductions on the luxury electric sedan Genesis G80 2025 model, with cuts reaching up to EGP 1.25 million. This marks one of the largest discounts seen in the premium electric vehicle segment recently.
New Pricing Details
According to the updated price list, the base trim now starts at EGP 3.5 million, down from EGP 4.75 million, reflecting a reduction of EGP 1.25 million. The second trim drops to EGP 4.1 million from EGP 4.95 million, while the top-spec variant falls to EGP 4.25 million from EGP 5.45 million. The company confirmed that these discounts apply exclusively to the 2025 Genesis G80 electric model.
Performance and Range
The Genesis G80 Electric is the first luxury all-electric sedan introduced by the Korean brand in Egypt. It features dual electric motors producing a combined 365 hp and 700 Nm of torque, paired with an all-wheel-drive system. This enables acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.1 seconds.
The vehicle is equipped with a 94.5 kWh battery pack, offering a driving range of up to 680 km per charge according to the announced specifications. It also supports fast charging, allowing the battery to go from 10% to 80% in approximately 25 minutes.
Luxury Features and Warranty
The G80 comes loaded with premium amenities, including leather seats with heating, cooling, and massage functions, connected digital displays, and a high-end audio system. It also includes a comprehensive suite of driver assistance and active safety systems. The company offers a 5-year unlimited-kilometer warranty, an 8-year or 160,000 km battery warranty, and free scheduled maintenance for 5 years or 100,000 km.
Market Impact
Industry observers believe these price cuts could enhance the car's competitiveness in Egypt's luxury electric vehicle market, especially as some trims approach price levels that challenge higher-end conventional luxury cars. This comes amid a gradual expansion of available electric models and brands in the local market.
