First Egyptian-Made Electric SUV: Dongfeng Mage EV to Launch Before September 2026

SN Automotive, in partnership with El Nasr Automotive Manufacturing Company, is preparing to launch the first fully locally assembled electric SUV in Egypt. The vehicle is the Dongfeng Mage EV, which is being assembled at the El Nasr plant in Helwan. The model is scheduled to hit the Egyptian market before the end of the third quarter of 2026, specifically before September.

Launch Details and Local Assembly

Engineer Yahia Abdel Halim, CEO of SN Automotive, announced during a visit by the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs to the El Nasr factory that the new electric vehicle is ready for launch. He confirmed that the entire assembly process takes place locally at El Nasr's facilities, marking a significant step toward localizing electric vehicle manufacturing in Egypt. The Dongfeng Mage EV is a compact SUV featuring a modern design with LED headlights, flush door handles, and a digital cockpit.

Battery and Driving Range

The Dongfeng Mage EV is powered by an 82 kWh lithium-ion battery, delivering a driving range of up to 444 kilometers (approximately 276 miles) under the WLTP cycle. It supports fast charging, allowing the battery to go from 30% to 80% in just 34 minutes, while a full charge via AC takes about 9.5 hours. These specifications position the vehicle as a strong contender in the compact electric SUV segment.

Digital Features and Comfort

The cabin is equipped with modern digital technology, including a 10.25-inch touchscreen for infotainment and a digital instrument cluster that displays driving data clearly. The vehicle also supports wireless smartphone charging and offers a high level of comfort with ventilated leather seats, a rearview camera, and front parking sensors to enhance safety and convenience during driving.
