Inside Nasr Car Company: First Fully Egyptian Electric Car Launch Date Revealed

Engineer Yehia Abdel Halim, CEO of SN Automotive, announced that the company is preparing to launch the first fully locally assembled electric vehicle at the Nasr Car Company factories during the third quarter of 2026. The announcement came during an expanded visit by Dr. Hussein Issa, Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, to the historic manufacturing facility, where he reviewed ongoing production and development plans.

High-Level Government Visit to Monitor Manufacturing Plans

During the visit, the Deputy Prime Minister met with several industry leaders, including Yehia Abdel Halim, Mohamed El-Saadawi Chairman of the Metallurgical Industries Holding Company, and Dr. Nabil Hammad CEO of Nasr Car Company. The government official received a detailed presentation on SN Automotive's plan to launch the first fully locally assembled electric vehicle in Egypt and the Middle East, currently being manufactured on the production lines of the historic Nasr Car Company plant.

Strategic Partnership Between Private Sector and National Industry

SN Automotive is the result of a strategic partnership between El-Safi Group and Nasr Automotive Manufacturing Company, representing a model that integrates private sector efforts with state-owned national industrial entities. This partnership aims to strengthen Egypt's automotive industry and maximize the utilization of productive assets and accumulated expertise, aligning with the state's direction toward localizing advanced technology and supporting sustainable industrial development.

Abdel Halim emphasized that the continuous government support for developing national industry and building a competitive industrial base is clearly reflected inside the Nasr Car Company factories. He pointed out that expanding electric vehicle production embodies a future vision aligned with global transformations in the transportation sector and strongly supports the "Made in Egypt" brand. He further explained that this step represents a qualitative leap in the local industry's trajectory and opens the door for exporting Egyptian electric vehicles to regional markets in the coming phases.
