ManDream, the official distributor of BYD in Egypt, has commenced deliveries of the first batch of the all-new BYD Ti7 DM-i to customers at its service centers in New Cairo and Sheikh Zayed, adhering to the timeline announced during the official launch event. This move is part of the company's strategy to strengthen its presence in the local market, as hybrid models continue to gain traction among consumers seeking economical and eco-friendly mobility solutions.

Deliveries and Powertrain

The initial deliveries are for the Ultra trim, equipped with a front-wheel-drive (FWD) system powered by BYD's DM-i hybrid technology, delivering a total output of 275 horsepower and a driving range exceeding 1,000 kilometers. This makes the vehicle suitable for both daily commutes and long-distance travel. BYD is gradually rolling out deliveries in the local market, with increasing demand for its various models. The company has also started delivering the Sealion 5 to customers following its recent launch. Deliveries of the higher-spec Luxury trim are scheduled to begin in mid-July, featuring an all-wheel-drive (AWD) system under the DMP configuration, producing up to 485 horsepower.

Dimensions and Space

The BYD Ti7 DM-i measures 5 meters in length, approximately 2 meters in width, and 1.86 meters in height, with a wheelbase of 2.92 meters. These generous dimensions give the vehicle a commanding road presence and a spacious interior ideal for families, positioning it as a direct competitor to models like the Chery Tiggo 8 in the Egyptian market.

BYD Ti7 Features

The Ultra trim utilizes the Dual Mode Intelligent (DM-i) technology with FWD, featuring 19-inch alloy wheels, power-adjustable front seats with ventilation, and cruise control. The Luxury trim elevates the experience with the DMP system featuring AWD, 20-inch alloy wheels, dynamic welcome lighting, multi-function seats with heating, ventilation, and massage functions, a head-up display (HUD), and power-adjustable rear seats. These features make the BYD Ti7 an attractive option for those seeking a hybrid SUV that combines robust performance with luxury.

Engine Performance

The vehicle is powered by a hybrid system that pairs a 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine with BYD's Blade battery pack, which has a capacity of 26.6 kWh. This combination provides driving flexibility, allowing for electric-only operation on short trips and switching to the conventional engine for longer journeys, thereby reducing fuel consumption and emissions. With actual deliveries now underway, the Egyptian market is closely watching for further details on competitive pricing and parts availability, especially as interest in hybrid vehicles as practical alternatives to traditional cars continues to grow.
