The launch coincided with the first official visit of Sven Schuwirth, Executive Vice President of Sales, Marketing, and After-Sales, to Egypt.
CUPRA Tavascan Enters the Egyptian Market
The numbers are striking. CUPRA's cumulative sales in Egypt have exceeded 8,000 vehicles since operations began in 2023, with a 325% sales growth in 2025 compared to 2024. This performance has positioned Egypt as one of the brand's fastest-growing markets in the region, according to figures announced during the launch event.
Schuwirth's tour included CUPRA's headquarters in Abu Rawash, followed by a visit to CUPRA Garage at Waslet Dahshur in Sheikh Zayed for the Tavascan launch. CUPRA's Egyptian lineup has expanded over three years to include Leon, Formentor, Formentor VZ. Terramar, now joined by the all-electric Tavascan. Those interested in exploring CUPRA's available models can browse used CUPRA listings to see what's on the market.
CUPRA's Electric Plans for Egypt
Does this launch change the game? Tavascan marks the beginning of CUPRA's journey into Egypt's electric vehicle segment, according to Schuwirth. He indicated the company's ambition to expand its electric model lineup in the near future, with expectations that the CUPRA Raval will play a significant role in achieving this goal.
CUPRA aims to reach 10,000 cumulative sales in Egypt in the near future, supported by Kayan Egypt's distributor network and customer base. This target follows the brand's rapid growth, especially with a new electric option joining its lineup. Joseph Mounir, CUPRA Brand Manager at Kayan Egypt, said surpassing 8,000 units reflects Egyptian customers' confidence in the brand. He explained that the Tavascan launch adds a new electric option to the company's model range and strengthens its expansion plans in the local market.
This expansion comes as Egypt's electric vehicle market sees growing activity, with new brands entering and distributors widening their battery-powered offerings. With Tavascan, CUPRA becomes a player in this segment alongside its combustion-engine models. Buyers interested in used CUPRA vehicles can explore the CUPRA Formentor and CUPRA Leon as available second-hand options.
