Under EGP 800K: Cheapest Electric Cars in Egypt for 2026
Egypt's 2026 market introduced a wave of electric vehicles priced under EGP 1 million. The Geely Galaxy EX2 leads at EGP 749.9K, followed by the Dongfeng BOX, Arcfox T1, and BYD Dolphin Surf. These models offer ranges between 325 and 425 kilometers, competing directly with petrol cars in value and running costs.
Electric vehicles in Egypt are no longer confined to the premium segment above EGP 1.5 million. The 2026 market saw the arrival of several more affordable models, some now competing directly with petrol cars in the same price bracket, with starting prices around EGP 750,000. The list includes five main models led by the Geely Galaxy EX2 at EGP 749.9K.
Geely Galaxy EX2: Starting at EGP 749.9K
The Geely Galaxy EX2 tops the list with a starting price of EGP 749,900 for the Pro trim, while the Max version reaches EGP 849,900. Not what anyone expected. An electric car at this price would have been unthinkable in Egypt just two years ago.
The car features a 39.4 kWh battery, delivering a driving range of approximately 325 kilometers, with 115 horsepower and 150 Nm of torque. Zero to 100 km/h takes 10.2 seconds. The EX2 is a five-seat hatchback, positioning it as a strong candidate for daily urban commuting. Used Geely prices suggest growing demand for this segment.
Fierce Competition Below EGP 1 Million
Second place goes to the Dongfeng BOX, starting at EGP 770,000 with the top trim reaching EGP 870,000. The base version comes with a 31.4 kWh battery and an advertised range of 330 kilometers on a single charge.
Does longer range really matter here? The Dongfeng BOX targets the compact city car segment with compact dimensions and interior space designed for daily use and short to medium trips. This car competes head-on with budget petrol alternatives, offering a compelling value proposition.
Moving up the price ladder, the Arcfox T1 starts at EGP 924,900 for the Pro version, with the Plus trim at EGP 994,900. It uses an LFP battery with 42.4 kWh capacity, providing a range of 425 kilometers, plus an electric motor producing 95 hp and 176 Nm.
Fast Charging and Extended Range
The standout feature of the Arcfox T1 is its fast-charging capability — the battery can go from 30% to 80% in about 25 minutes, according to official data. This makes it a practical choice for intercity travel or for owners who rely on their EV as a primary vehicle.
At the other end, BYD Dolphin Surf enters at a confirmed EGP 949,900, making it the most affordable EV from the brand in Egypt. The car uses a 38 kWh battery and combines practical design with well-thought-out technical specifications.
The battle is no longer just about technology — price is the new battleground. Egypt's market is shifting toward electric mobility fast, and the models that deliver real value for every pound will lead this transformation phase.
