Cheapest BYD Electric Car in Egypt: Dolphin Surf Leads EV Sales

ManDream, the exclusive local distributor of BYD in Egypt, is offering the BYD Dolphin Surf as the most affordable model in its lineup for the local market this June. This comes as BYD tops the list of the most registered electric vehicle brands in Egypt, based on data from the Egyptian Compulsory Vehicle Insurance Pool over the past three months.

Engine and Performance of the BYD Dolphin Surf

The car is powered by a 38.88 kWh lithium-ion battery paired with an electric motor producing 75 hp. It supports home charging via a Type 2 AC port, as well as CCS fast charging that can fully charge the battery in just 30 minutes. The five-seater Dolphin Surf offers a driving range of up to 300 km under normal conditions, dropping to 220 km on highways in cold weather, with a top speed of 130 km/h.

Dimensions and Interior Features

The vehicle measures 3,780 mm in length, 1,540 mm in width, and 1,715 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,500 mm. The gross vehicle weight at maximum load reaches 2,068 kg. Inside, the car features a central touchscreen display that supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, enabling seamless smartphone connectivity and app usage. Additional equipment includes a premium sound system and automatic climate control.
