BYD is intensifying competition in the luxury electric vehicle market, as a test version of the new Great Han sedan has been spotted during road trials ahead of its official unveiling. The model is expected to become one of the most technologically advanced electric cars in its class.

The new vehicle, representing the latest generation of the renowned Han family, aims to combine luxury, performance, and long range. It relies on the latest battery and fast-charging technologies developed by the Chinese automaker to compete with major names such as Tesla, Mercedes-EQ, and BMW i5.

Range Approaching 1000 km

The most striking feature of the new Great Han is its massive electric range. Reports indicate that the car could approach the 1000-kilometer barrier on a single charge in some versions, placing it among the longest-range electric vehicles in the world today.

This is made possible by the second generation of Blade Battery technology and BYD's new charging systems, which allow adding hundreds of kilometers in just a few minutes.

Charging in Minutes Instead of Hours

The car is built on an advanced electric platform that supports ultra-fast charging with a capacity of up to 1000 kW, figures that far exceed what most current electric vehicles offer.

According to the company, the new technology can add approximately 400 kilometers of range in just 5 minutes, aiming to eliminate one of the biggest drawbacks of electric vehicles: long charging times.

More Luxurious and Commanding Design

Spy photos of the car reveal a more streamlined and luxurious design compared to the current Han generation, featuring an aggressive front fascia, extended LED lighting, and lines reminiscent of premium European sedans.

The cabin is expected to include a massive central screen, advanced artificial intelligence systems, as well as luxury features such as an air suspension system, premium seats, and semi-autonomous driving technologies.

Sporty Performance Despite Large Size

Reports also indicate that some higher-end versions of the Great Han may exceed 1000 horsepower, with a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of under 3 seconds. This transforms the car from a mere luxury sedan into a direct competitor to high-performance electric sports cars.

BYD Bets on the Luxury Segment

The Great Han is part of a broader strategy by BYD to expand aggressively in the luxury electric vehicle segment, leveraging its innovative battery and charging technologies to deliver a product that can compete strongly in the global market.
